Baby Boomer Advisory Team

Purpose

The Baby Boomer Advisory Team provides oversight to the Baby Boomer pilot project in north central Iowa.

Scope

The Baby Boomer Advisory Team is responsible for oversight of the Baby Boomer project in north central Iowa. The Team will be a resource to the project coordinator in terms of identifying individuals to be included in the focus groups and invited to the forum(s); suggesting community businesses that would be willing to make in-kind donations; and identifying potential financial sources for completing the pilot project and initiating a state-wide approach. In addition, the Team will be invited to contribute their ideas on the best strategies to follow to achieve the goals of the project.

The Team will meet monthly, or as needed, for the duration of the project, approximately September, 2006 until March, 2007. The project coordinator will ensure that the recommendations from the Baby Boomer Advisory Team are conveyed to the RSVP of North Central Iowa Advisory Council on a regular basis. Suggestions from the Baby Boomer Advisory Team that involve significant expenditure must be approved by the Executive Director of RSVP of North Central Iowa.

• reaching consensus on decisions
• focusing on the mission and targeted outcomes of the project
• communicating regularly with the RSVP Executive Director and Advisory Council
• being committed to the Advisory Team’s leadership role in engaging Baby Boomers in volunteer service

Membership

They include members of the RSVP Advisory Council and other individuals representing the RSVP jurisdiction who have an interest in the Baby Boomer initiative and experience to share. The Project Coordinator will lead the Team meetings and will be responsible for setting the agenda and ensuring accurate reports of all meetings are maintained.
